What have we achieved recently?

    We're a small organization, with about 100 members; alone, our accomplishments are modest. They include:

     Educating ourselves on important issues of the day;

     Introduced all the local Democratic candidates at our meetings;

     Raising money for an annual $1000 scholarship to a deserving student;

     Raised a large sum of money for a weekend Campaign Training Camp in 2006; participants continue to play their part in election campaigns and campaigns for issues;

     Helped to staff the Democratic Party of Lee County Headquarters, especially during election years.

                              But that's not all ...

    Both as individuals and as a team, we donate our time, energy and money, which -- along with efforts of other individuals and organizations --- are responsible for making some significant differences, including the following:

        We worked vigorously on several issues, and have been rewarded by the Florida legislature with several new laws we campaigned for that make more Floridians' votes count,

       as well as helping to pass some new laws protecting the environment;

        We helped elect and reelect Democratic Senator Bill Nelson;
