THE DEMOCRATIC WOMEN'S
CLUB OF LEE COUNTY
is a member of the
National Federation of Democratic Women.
SPEAKERS are chosen for
their ability to inform us about matters of particular interest to our
members. Local Democratic candidates of 2008 will all be invited
to speak, as well as experts on issues of concern this election year.
Our members tend to be
activists both as Democrats and as concerned citizens about issues that
affect the well-being of the community, state or nation.
Everyone is welcome to
attend our meeting/luncheons, so long as we receive your reservation in
time to include you in the count (which we turn in the Wednesday
afternoon before the meeting).
To become a full-fledged
member, you must be a
registered Florida Democrat and pay the annual dues of $25. You may be a
member elsewhere at the same time, but may hold only one membership in
our Region VII (i.e., Charlotte, Collier, Lee and Manatee Counties).
The club is
non-discriminatory. ALL registered Democrats, including men, are welcome
to become members.
Our club is over 25 years
old. It is part of Region VII, which consists of clubs in Charlotte,
Collier, Lee and Manatee counties (with rumors of a new one coming to
Sarasota). We are a branch of the Democratic Women's Club of Florida,
which is a member of the American Federation of Democratic Women.
